craft fun - where to put all those tiny hairclips?

i am slowly building up macy's hair clip collection and i came across this really cute idea that holds her clips but is also a really cute decoration for her room. and since we are renting, there is a really strict rule about putting any holes in the wall...boo! so this was a good thing to make as it is very lightweight and can be held up by a pin. dont worry, i used an existing hole..hehe..

here it is...

and a close up of the flower pot...

i had heaps of fun making this. nice and bright and cheerful!

craft fun - love wreath & dress for macy

i made another wreath, this time for my nana....

and this is a dress i made for macy for last summer. the pattern ended up a weird size so it just fits her now for this summer! notice the action shot - since macy is now walking full time (well nearly running actually...) it is SO hard to get a photo of her! i was actually quite surprised that this one came out in focus...

for christmas this year i have been trying to make all the presents for our family. so much fun but so much work! i have so many different projects going at once that i feel a bit overloaded, but at the same time, i am finding it really rewarding making gifts this year. i hope that the build up to christmas isnt too much for all of you right now! :)

craft fun - joy yarn wreath

i had so much fun with this craft project. i made a yarn wreath for my mum for christmas. i gave it to her the other day as i wanted her to have it to put up with her decorations for december!

the lighting was so shocking so its not fully in focus, but you get the idea!

this is probably one of the most fun craft projects ive done in a long time. i need to do one for me now...

craft fun - sleeveless hoody for macy

i just finished a sleeveless hoody for macy today. im pretty stoked with how it turned out - i never really know until i try it on her at the end as to whether its going to work!

here's the finished product...

and here is a close up of my first homemade button attempt... how is it possible to find so much joy in making a button??? haha...i just want to make tons and tons!!...does anyone else share this excitement with me?? haha
i also taught myself how to make a tidy v-neck so macy's nose doesnt get squished when putting on the hoody...

and here is my little model...

and then she's had enough..

a sneak peek!

amongst the craziness of macy being unwell this past week, i have managed to get some knitting done. here is a sneak peek of my project - you will have to check back to see what it is! hehe... the only clue i will give is that it is something for macy. i have been wanting to knit her something since before she was born, and so finally i am!....

hmmm...what could it be? ;)

craft fun - sleeveless hoody for jobe

i had been working on a hoody for macy over the last couple of days but had to put it aside as i didnt have any ribbing to finish it - so frustrating when you are in the middle of a project! anyway, i was in the mood to sew, so i hunted through my sweatshirt fabric and had enough to sew up a sleeveless hoody for jobe. i found a top of his that fit him well to make a pattern from. he is pretty stoked with it and its hard to get him to take it off!

here is his photoshoot (with a little help of bribing him with chocolate buttons...hehe)

im off to spotlight this coming week to stock up on some craft supplies, so i hope to finish macy's hoody and also do some other projects that have been on my list for some time. stay tuned!

craft fun

my friend sarah at bobbyrobin inspired me to buy the book softies after seeing all the cute creations she had made from it.

jobe fell in love with this little creature in the book and was wanting him so bad that i drew a picture of him because i didn't have the time to make one. jobe would carry the little picture around everywhere so i felt sorry for him and thought i would make him the real deal!

i surprised him with this in the morning...

his legs turned out a bit rough but jobe loves him and that is all that matters! jobe has named him 'bug' and he has joined the rest of his soft toys that go to bed with him at nights. soon there wont be any room for jobe in there!

jobe has expressed that he also wants the monkey and lizard sometime so i better get sewing!

craft fun

i found this cool idea for a crinkly tag blanket from my friend at bobbyrobin who got it from li'l magoolie who got it from joy's hope (3 awesome blogs for you to check out by the way!!).

i love to find new ideas for things to make and especially when they are toys for the kids that they love and are made out of materials you already have around the house!

here is the end product....

i was so stoked with how it turned out and couldn't wait to see what macy thought of it....

yup, i think she is stoked!!!
